Taken from their upcoming album, Floatr, Happyness’ new single, ‘Title Track’, (which is, rather confusingly, not actually the album’s title track) is an atmospheric journey through an impressive expanse of musical textures. It opens with an atmospheric acoustic guitar and a distant lead vocal, before building towards a manic climax full of synths, sound effects and a loud, full band. 2019 saw the band transform into triumphant live performers, co-fronted by drag queen Ash Kenai and singer Johnny Allan. Allan explains that the track “was kind of like the scene at the end of the movie Dark Star where he’s convincing the bomb not to explode and kill them all. It’s about hindsight mainly, like your brain rattling like an old machine starting up again trying to get up to speed with reality, and your probably acting semi-lobotomised whilst it's happening”.
